Q: I am taking Zocor®  (Statin Drug) for my high cholesterol. Can I take StatinGuard®?

A: Zocor® is a statin drug that inhibits cholesterol synthesis. Since CoQ10 shares a common synthetic pathway with cholesterol, drugs that inhibit cholesterol synthesis can also reduce CoQ10 levels. Scientific evidence clearly demonstrates that maintaining healthy levels of coenzyme Q10 is important for heart health. If you take any supplement, we always recommend that you inform your doctor.

Q: Will StatinGuard® help with some of the side effects I might experience with my cholesterol medication?

A:StatinGuard® was designed to maintain healthy CoQ10 levels - which can be reduced by all Statin medicines - and promote cardiovascular health. It also helps to energize your body and helps to reduce muscle pain originating from many Statin-based medications. Tell your doctor if you experience any side effects from the medication.

Q: I take the VitalYouth with 25 mg of CoQ10. Can I also take StatinGuard® that contains 50 mg of CoQ10?

A: Yes. Daily doses of CoQ10 range from 5 to 300 milligrams.

Q: Can StatinGuard® lower my cholesterol?
A: No. However, CoQ10 inhibits the oxidation of LDL cholesterol which is believed to play a significant role in heart health. [1]

Q: There is new CoQ10 product on the market called ubiquinol. Is this in the StatinGuard®?

A: No. StatinGuard® contains CoQ10 in the form of ubiquinone. Once ingested ubiquinone is easily and readily converted into its reduced (active antioxidant) form called ubiquinol. [2] Lipoic Acid, also in StatinGuard, is critical in converting ubiquinone to ubiquinol - this is an important detail which makes StatinGuard unique in the market.
